A new collaboration has started between the Cape Psych Center, Partial Hospitalization, the ER psych section and Duffy. A PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) is starting with the hospital. We have a team consisting of Brain Diehl, therapist, Susan Childs, Community Health Worker, and Faith Fusco, psych NP that will go over to CCH two times a week, about an hour at a time for bridge sessions, engagement services and psychopharm consults with the psych center, partial program and ER. This will be for current patients as well as reaching out to new people. There is great excitement for this program from both sides of the table, including from Diane Wolsieffer, psych NP at the ER, who used to be on the Duffy staff. We almost always have a patient or two (or three) within these programs as any given time, so this will be a very effective way to get them the best aftercare, as well as providing care for new patients who may not have had medical and mental health care in the past, but who meet our mission.
Duffy also recently participated the annual summit sponsored by the Behavioral Provider Coalition of Cape and the Islands. Read more about the summit and how Duffy and other collaborating organizations are working to change the face of mental illness on Cape Cod.
These are two examples of how Duffy is willing to PDSA, and invest their time and energy into new ideas and new ways of doing things, all to improve patient care. If you believe in our mission and vision, please consider joining our other community partners by making a gift to our unrestricted fun; a gift that will change a life.
