As September and National Recovery Month draw to a close, it is only appropriate that the Behavioral Health Provider Coalition of Cape and Island is holding its Third Annual Behavioral Health Summit, “Building Bridges to Recovery.”
The daylong conference will be highlighting some of the innovative collaborations that are happening on the Cape as well as more national models. The Barnstable Police will be hosting a panel discussion about the Community Intervention Unit- a team of three that are definitely “boots on the ground” in Hyannis. Sargent Jeannie Challis was Interviewd by WQRC, Codcomm and WCAI about her involvement and it was moving to see her dedication to those in our community that so many would like to either ignore or hide. She talked in detail about the difficulties faced by the team when someone asks for help with their recovery.
Below, please find several of the panels that will be highlighting helping people along the Road to Recovery.
