DUFFY HEALTH CENTER EVENING OF THE STARS BERMUDA SUITCASE PARTY FAQs

Q. What is the cost of a ticket?
A. Each ticket costs $150.00 and automatically entitles you to participate in a drawing for a weekend getaway to Bermuda, immediately following the Gala. NO additional purchases are necessary.

Q. What if my name is drawn, but I am unable to go to Bermuda that weekend?
A. As guests check in, staff will ask whether you are able to participate and if you have your passport. If you are NOT able to go to Bermuda that weekend, we will simply not put your name in the drawing. If you do NOT have your passport at the Gala, you will not be able to participate.

Q. What a great idea! But what do I do with my suitcase during the Gala?
A. Please leave your suitcase in your car. If your name is drawn, a Duffy employee will help you retrieve your suitcase and help you get on the plane.

Q. Where will I be able to park for the event?
A. There is plenty of parking. Parking attendants will be directing traffic and monitoring parking permits.

  • Reserved Parking is available to those who are Primary Sponsors of the Gala and they will be identified with a special parking permit. (Please contact Elyse DeGroot at edegroot@duffyhealthcenter.org if you are interested in becoming a Primary Sponsor). Please DO NOT park anywhere but where the attendees ask you to, to avoid creating confusion for other attendees.
  • Additional parking for approximately 70 cars will be available in the Cape Air lot.
  • As in past years, we will also be running a Limo Bus from the airport’s overflow lot (behind Pain D’Avignon) to the Rectrix Aerodrome.
  • If you park in the overflow lot, and your name is drawn, a Duffy employee will drive you to your car to retrieve your suitcase and return you to the Lear Jet.

Q. What time will our flight depart on Friday, May 11 and what time will we return on Sunday, May 13?
A. The drawing will be held at 6:30 pm promptly and the plane will depart the Aerodrome promptly on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and return on Sunday, May 13 by approximately 7:30 p.m. Transportation to and from the airport in Bermuda will be provided by the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel.

Q. What will happen to my car while I am gone?
A. Your car will be perfectly safe parked where it is while you are gone.

Q. Why do I need a passport?
A. Bermuda requires a passport for anyone entering the country.

Q. If I win the drawing, can I invite anyone I want to come along with me?
A. Yes, as long as they have their passport with them and are present at the Gala.

Q. Are meals included in the trip?
A. A full breakfast, High Tea, and evening appetizers are available for your convenience. Dinner on Saturday evening will be on your own.

Q. What if I want to play golf?
A. Please do NOT bring golf clubs. The Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel is providing access to golf, and equipment is available to rent at the facility.

Q. Just so I can plan ahead, is the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel on the beach?
A. The Fairmont Hamilton has both a fresh and saltwater pool as well as a putting green. If you desire a full beach, the Fairmont Hamilton will provide transportation to their sister resort, the Fairmont Southampton, which has beach access.

Q. What will happen to the silent action items I purchased?
A. Duffy staff will hold them until you return.

**Executive committee members of the Duffy Health Center Board, and senior management of the Duffy Health Center will not be permitted to participate in the drawing**
